Born in Sweden has managed to transform a humble watering can to an absolutely desirable design object. Designed by Pascal Charmolu this unique watering can, is minimalistic and simple, but at the same time visually striking – a combination not easy to achieve.
Ordinary watering cans tend to be utterly unsightly, and at the same time directing the water to the target, ιs not an easy task. The Born In Sweden Watering Can has a flexible silicone hose which ensures that the water goes where you want it. When not in use, a magnet keeps the hose upright/attached, practical and clever. So when it is time to water the plants, you don’t need to tilt the entire canister, just use the hose and the water flows to the desired direction, viola! No spillage.
Obviously such a good looking and cleverly designed object, does not necessarily need be used as just as a watering can. It might as well serve many other uses with a pinch of imagination, for example it can be a flower vase or used for serving drinks at a party.
It is no coincidence that the watering can won the important “IF Product Design Award” design competition in 2010 and it is a finalist for the 2011 “German Design Award”. Made of 18-0 stainless steel, this ingenious watering can has a capacity of 1.5l. It is available in polished or brushed stainless steel finish, or in a wide variety of amazing colors to match any decor.
