The Geneva Sound XL is a contemporary audio system, crafted in an elegant cabinet made out of piano lacquered wood. Moreover at 38kg weight and 61cm height (without the optional stand) this is quite possibly the largest iPhone dock ever created.
The XL is made by Swiss firm Geneva Lab and is equipped with a slot-loading CD player and a digital radio, while a discreet LED display behind the front grille shows the audio source and track playing. However, the system really shines when combined with an iPhone or iPod through its built-in dock. Using patented Embracing Sound ™ technology, the XL converts the connected iOS device into a serious high fidelity audio system.
If you prefer minimalist styling without unattractive cables and unnecessary complexity, combined with serious performance, Geneva Sound XL is an ideal proposition.
This gigantic iPhone dock is equipped with two 13cm mid-range drivers, two 2.5cm tweeters and two 20cm subwoofers, driven by six 100 watt (600-watt total) class D digital amplifiers. with this unique setup the system amazes with its sound clarity and delivers the kind of sound one would expect from a much more expensive stereo system. Also it will work with other MP3 players using the provided 3.5 mm adapter cable.
The Geneva Sound XL will graciously fit in any décor, classic or modern. Its sheer size is impressive, while its style is both retro and contemporary at the same time. It is certainly a very unique approach to an iPhone friendly sound system and the only thing holding it back is the high price at approximately 2600€.
However if you like the styling but you find the price too high or the size too much, no worries, Geneva Lab offers a whole portfolio of models based on the same ingenious concept. The Geneva Sound S, the Geneva Sound M and the Geneva Sound L are very similar to the XL, but they come at a smaller packaging and more affordable pricing.
