High Fashion has its own “revolts”. One of them is Martin Margiela. His designs surprise with their uniqueness in shape and their anti-branding lack of tags.
Women shoes, especially heels, are one of Martin Margiela’s favorite fashion accessories. Once in a while the designer presents remarkable collections of women heels with pieces that become points of reference and acquire collector’s value. For the Autumn Winter 2010-2011 season, Martin Margiela created the iconic black sculptural booties shown here in the pictures. Their strong design character features a solid, unified form with and curved bottom line.
According to the designer, the designed aims to create sculptural booties. A fashion accessory that reminds us of modern sculptures. The curvy lined base incorporates the heel with the main form of the shoe, creating an optical continuity with no edges. The overall aesthetics is an original sample of the north-European high fashion, with strict, elegant and minimal lines.
The luxurious total black look is only interrupted by a discrete white stitch in the back. Of course, the material used is genuine leather and the heel is 12 centimeters high, making it clear that the shoe is for formal occasions.
