TDK is bringing the classic back with the new TDK Boombox, a sleek retro-modern portable audio system with a clear nod to the iconic blasters of the 80’s.
The design of the impressive TDK Boombox combines retro elements with all the “bells & whistles” of the digital era. Among its rich feature list the TDK Boombox has Intuitive touch-sensitive buttons, USB port used to play and control music directly from storage devices including USB flash drives and external hard drives, input options to connect most audio devices and a 30-Pin iPod-iPhone connector cable. You can even plug in your guitar or microphone and mix with other music sources.
The best part however is the solidity of its distinctive retro-modern look. The TDK Boombox comes with a leather shoulder strap, a stylish fixed solid metal handle and an awesome looking glossy finish, a perfect combination of digital performance and analog nostalgia.
The name TDK evokes pleasant memories to music lovers who did not grow up with iPods and MP3s. Memories of a time that we were recording cassette tapes from the radio, accompanied by handwritten slips of paper with the song titles. The TDK Boombox reminds us of those days, but its design is stylish and sophisticated enough to bring that retro concept perfectly to the modern era.
Currently there are two models, the 3 Speaker Boombox and the 2 Speaker Boombox. Apart from size, the primary difference is that the 3 Speaker model has a dedicated 6-inch subwoofer in the center, which produces accurate deep bass. The 2 Speaker Boombox features the same pair of powerful 6-inch coaxial drivers that deliver clear vocals and crisp highs, but lacks the subwoofer. Both units have the same classic retro rectangular shape and can operate using batteries or mains power.
